About Education

Educating children and adults about the natural world through guided exploration of our habitats is one of the goals of Bucktoe Creek Preserve. We work toward this goal by leading weekly bird and botanical walks, and by hosting nature programs through the Delaware Nature Society. We also hire seasonal interns who spend a portion of their work experience learning about the flora, fauna and natural systems on the preserve. In the past, we have hosted "walk and talks" that are geared toward sharing our land stewardship values with interested individuals. We have also had the Kennett High School conduct a watershed lesson series within our experimental watershed. We are exploring the possibility of a series of nature classes for young children. We hope to have these classes available May 2010.
